For this project the brief is simply to create a hard surface character whether it be a robot or, have human aspects or resemblance or a completely made up character. The only specification is that it has to be a character not an object.
The initial things I looked at were the z brush hard surfacing techniques and brushes along with some examples on their website. As I have only created a soft body character in z brush and I am not yet a 100% content with going straight into z brush a creating something.

I then went on to look at reference images from films using mechanical robotic characters.

This I found interesting but didn’t like the netting over the top of the robotics as it takes lots of the detail away.
